Another Win for the 'Cullis

Game two of the season and another win. Portcullis lost the toss and were put into bat. We posted a score of 160 and AGSFP tried hard but failed by 29 runs.

Kris and Venu were our openers. Venu who was playing his first game for Portcullis had a shaky start but once he got going made a quick 37. This was followed by Rahul who made a determined 57. Collinson who was the captain for the day scored 11. Old man Adie ran out of partners making a cumbersome 5 no.

AGSFP fielding was a bit iffy. They dropped a least 6 catches and none of them was that difficult.

Chetan got us off to a good start when he took 2 wickets in his first 2 overs. Venu came on and took a quick wicket before Govil and Karthik started to hit out. Venu then had Govil caught in the deep. Rahul came back on and he had two wickets in two balls finally finishing with 4 wickets altogether. Venu came back on and after a struggle got another wicket. Krish had a spell of bowling when Govil and Karthik were hitting out, but he stuck to his task.

All in all it was a very hard fought win. We had 6 batsmen caught, 3 bowled and 1 run out.

Our fielding was excellent with one hard catch dropped. We had to change wicket keepers as Coxie had injured his knee diving to his left when the ball went past his right. Adie, his replacement, did a workmanlike job behind the stumps.

If we show the same determination and concentration as we did today we wont be far off when the trophies are handed out at the end of the season.
