Farewell to Mo the Maverick

It is with a heavy heart to give the sad news that Portcullis have finally lost their maverick talisman Muhammad Bilal Farooq. He has upped sticks and gone back to Pakistan. Although his presence will not grace the Aberdeen pitches no more the memory of his performances will live on in the lower echelons of the Aberdeenshire Grades.

Nitin Ganesh Shetty 1981 - 2015

It is with deep sadness that I must announce the passing of former Portcullis player Nitin Shetty who died suddenly in Mumbai last week at the age of 34.

Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife and young son and to all his family and friends at this difficult time.

Nitin was well liked at the club and fondly remembered since he returned home to India. He was not just a hell of a cricketer but a genuinely nice guy the likes of which we are unlikely to see again any time soon.

Grampian Grind Down City Centre Green Caps

Saturday July 11th saw Portcullis drawn away to Grampian CC in the semi final of the Johnston Rose Bowl.

The winners of this match would face a tough but thoroughly sporting Turriff side in the final. For both teams this would be a huge incentive.

Magnificent Mitch Stuns Siyapa

Match six of Portcullis's 2015 grade four season saw the city Centre green caps on their travels to Sheddocksley 2 as they came up against league leaders Siyapa CC.

Although Siyapa are new to Saturday grades cricket, many of their players were not. In fact five of their eleven had played for Portcullis CC in the past!

Portcullis Cricket Club Wants YOU!!

Freddie and Brett at the 2005 Ashes. It is that time of the year once again. Winter is behind us and spring is once again in the air. It is time for men and women of all ages and stages to don the whites, dust down the kit bag, oil the bat and do those stretches.
