Huntly Run Fest

Portcullis v. Huntly

Portcullis just managed to come out on top last Saturday in a match which saw 484 runs scored in 80 overs.

The friendly match had been arranged at very short notice after our  original fixture at Dunecht had to be cancelled because of a waterlogged pitch.

First time captain for the day Stephen Hall won the toss and chose to bat, and we managed to run up a reasonable total of 251-7 from the alloted 40 overs. Opener Rohit (75) anchored most of the innings, with good contributions from Tarun (49) and Dinesh (24), and finished of with a thrash of 43 from Dave Cox.

Good bowling and early wickets for Kris and Tarun put us in a strong position early on but we lost focus a little in the second half of the innings their score began to creep back up. Despite a classy 123no from C Howard , however, they couldn't quite make the total and finished just 18 runs short.

Many thanks to Huntly for getting a team together and at extremely  short notice.
