Owen is the Order of the Day!

Rob Owen - Man of the Match v Turriff.Match Five of the Grade Three 2014 season saw Portcullis on their travels. This away fixture would be one to look forward to as it took the Green Caps to Turriff. It was also the first fixture outside the City of Aberdeen. Not that Aberdeen is a bad place to play cricket - far from it!! It is the fact there are plenty of varying picturesque cricket grounds in and around the towns and villages of Aberdeen that are an absolute joy to play on. The Haughs at Turriff being one of them.

Jesse Hits the Jackpot!!

Jesse after his 100!Saturday May 24th saw a change of competition for Portcullis as they exchanged League duties for the thrill of Cup participation. At the Aberdeen Grades AGM, the cup draw had presented Portcullis with a home tie at Duthie Park to Crathie CC.

It had been many a year since the teams last met - 2007 to be precise! On that occasion Crathie ran out as 161 run victors! Surely the City Centre Green Caps could improve on that result this time round.

Portcullis Collapse Against Kemnay

They don't like it up 'em!Match four of the Grades season saw Portcullis entertain League leaders Kemnay Kintore at Duthie Park. When the fixtures were drawn up during the close season, this match would have been seen as a top of the table clash what with Kemnay Kintore finishing second last season whilst Portcullis had finished third.

Following Kemnay-Kintore's 100% start to the season and Portcullis having lost their two opening games, this game took on a different complexion. Portcullis wanting to finally shake off their slow start whilst Kemnay-Kintore wanting to maintain their quick one.
